Like other profession, the way organizations are managed is continuously changing or being reframed. Information technology, globalization, workplace diversity, and the building of strategic partnerships are just some of the change agents affecting contemporary management. Management theories, concepts, skills, functions, roles, programs, and principles, however, still cut across the expansive arena of the PASC and the primary pocus of the text remains the management of the delivery systems of school physical education, interscholastic, intercollegiate, and recreational sports, and sport in the public and private domain. Management is crucial ingredient in any physical education or sports program and must be soundly implemented of that program is to be conducted in an effectives, efficient, and meaningful fashion. Management involves the interaction between those who administer and those who participate in the physical education and sporting process. It involves, but is not limited to, such important matters as human resources, long-range planning, programming, facilities, budget, legal liability, marketing, and public relations. This text explores these managerial dimensions and examines ways in which they can be effectively and efficiently employed.
